Crawford High School is excited to welcome our new ag teacher, Kyla Benfer. She was born and raised in Hico. Her mother was a school teacher there for 37 years and her father is still farming there. She grew up on a dairy farm, horse operation, cow/calf operation, and all around farming operation. Her family still runs a feed store there. After graduating from Hico, she received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Services and Development with a teaching certificate from Tarleton. She has taught ag science for 11 years. The Benfer's have two daughters: Lilly who is 6 years old and Laney who is 11 years old. Laney shows pigs and rabbits and is involved in softball. She is married to Wes and they share a passion for football, powerlifting, and all things agriculturally based.

Summer Reading Program at Crawford Elementary!

Crawford ISD is very excited to welcome Kasey Pate! Mrs. Pate will be teaching 2nd grade at Crawford Elementary. She graduated from Guyer High School in Denton, Texas and then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Texas. This will be her 11th year in education. She has spent the last 7 years teaching 2nd grade at Valley Mills. Her and her husband (Michael) have 2 kids: Luke, who is 5 and will be starting kindergarten and Sadie who just turned 1! She loves Jazzercise, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Pate is very excited to be at Crawford Elementary!


Crawford ISD is excited to announce that Joani Kohlscheen has been hired as an English teacher in the Middle School! Joanie graduated from Crawford and then from Tarleton State University. She has been teaching at Whitney Intermediate. She likes spending time with family and friends, walking her dogs, Rambo and Gunny, and watching sports. Please help us in welcoming our Lady Pirate back home!

Crawford Elementary is very excited to welcome Whitney Holmes back to Crawford ISD! Whitney will be the new Reading Interventionist at Crawford Elementary! She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and from Lamar University in 2013 with a Masters Degree in School Counseling. Her husband, Taylor, and her are both graduates of Crawford High School and attended Crawford K-12. She taught first grade for eight years before deciding to stay home with their three children: Emersyn (7), Parker (5), and Bowen (2). She enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching their kids participate in their various activities. Whitney is very excited to be returning to Crawford ISD as an educator and looks forward to working with the staff and students.
