Representatives from Crawford FCCLA went to Valley Mills Elementary this morning to present some money they raised for the family of Lily Avant. The girls met with Principal, Chris Dowdy, and the Assistant Principal, Joanie Moody. The organization had made bracelets that said #lilystrong. In doing this the group raised over $550 dollars to donate. Our thoughts and prayers are still with our friends in Valley Mills as they are mourning the loss of their student. Thank you to Crawford FCCLA for taking the initiative to step up and show kindness and help out when it is needed!

Well mark another successful Homecoming Parade (HOCO) in the books. What a turn out by the Crawford community. The support this community gives this school is simply the best. Angie Slaughter did a fantastic job of getting the HOCO parade organized and all of the participants lined up. There were many entries into the parade and their participation is greatly appreciated as well. Now let's talk Senior Slide show. Again another awesome effort in putting together the photographs submitted by the students for the slide show. Kim Buie, Yearbook Editor, truly does an amazing job of putting these photos to music. It is hard to keep a dry eye when watching these slideshows. I can only imagine what it is like as a parent each year. Both the HOCO parade and the Senior Slideshow were truly fun to be a part of.
Friday night is the HOCO game vs Rogers. Game time is 7:30 p.m., come out and support the Pirates as they take on the Rogers Eagles. The football sweetheart will also be named at half time. A special shout out to Billy Witt for using his customized 1952 Chevy pickup to carry the football sweetheart around the field at half.
Next Tuesday, Oct.1, is the annual volleyball Pink Out game to help fight cancer and further cancer research. Their will be a silent auction during the earlier games and there will be homemade goodies for sale as well. Come out and support the number one volleyball team in Class 2A as they take on Abbott. There will be 3 games starting at 5 pm.
On Monday morning during our tutorial time and group will be on campus to help get students who are eligible to vote registered so they will be able to take part in the voting process during the next election cycle.
The PSAT test will be administered at Crawford High School on October 16. This test is for students in grades 9-11. The cost is $17 and the deadline to register is Friday, October 4 at 3:30 pm.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will go to the Fields of Faith event on Wednesday October 2nd ,at the Waco ISD Stadium. This is an awesome experience for our students.
Recently Valley Mills Elementary lost one of their students, Lily Avant. Our students wanted to support Valley Mills in recognizing Lily for being such an outstanding young person. On Thursday of last week our students wore something blue in support and our FCCLA organization made bracelets that said #lilystrong. In doing this the group raised over $550 dollars to donate to the family of Lily Avant. This action by our student body truly made this old principal proud. We are going to Valley Mills on Friday, September 26, to present this money to the principal, Chris Dowdy, and he can get it to the family.
That is about if for this episode of P3. See you at the gym Friday night watching our volleyball teams take on Aquilla and then later at Pirate field for the HOCO game vs Rogers. As always come early, stay late and be loud.
