General guidelines:
* Plan to take the ACT or SAT two or three times to help target weak areas and improve scores
* Plan around family and school activities
* Many students wait to take the SAT or ACT until after sophomore year. Both the SAT and ACT test content that students don’t learn until sophomore year.
* Some college application deadlines are in the early fall of a student's senior year. Do not wait until this time to take the SAT or ACT for the first time.
*Check testing requirements at the colleges you may attend.
