A few weeks ago, Governor Greg Abbott announced the lifting of the mask mandate and the full reopening of businesses in the state. The decision about masks in public schools was remanded to the local districts. The CDC guidelines for contract tracing have not been revised. Eliminating mask requirements at this point could jeopardize the health and safety of our students in the classroom. Additionally, Crawford ISD has numerous students participating in extracurricular activities (Academic UIL, One Act Play, Softball, Baseball, Golf, Tennis, and Track & Field). Contact tracing guidelines could potentially cause greater numbers of students to be quarantined should we eliminate the current mask policy. Since this would put students in the classroom, academic programs, and spring activity teams at risk, the district will re-evaluate our protocols in April.

Nathan Macik and Gavin Reich exhibited their Grand Champion Agriculture Mechanics project at the McLennan County Show. In addition to all the prizes shown they each received an $750 scholarship from TSTC. They also won Reserve Championship in Showmanship!
