Ever wondered where the tradition of Rusty Blenden singing “Letting Go” at the Crawford Baccalaureate came from? Tonight marked his 27th year to sing that song! There were two years he didn’t sing the song. One year, a former Crawford High School coach sang a song at the service and another year, the teacher assigned to asking Mr. Blenden to sing, forgot to ask him! The tradition started when a mother came to his shop years ago and handed him the song “Letting Go” by Suzy Bogguss. The mother asked if he would please sing the song at Baccalaureate for her son who was graduating that year. He did.. and a Crawford tradition was born! Thanks to Rusty Blenden for all he has done and continues to do for Crawford ISD! Pirate supporters like him are one of the reasons Crawford ISD is so deeply rooted in tradition and strength and pride! #PiratePride

Carter Hooser has been selected to play this summer in the THSBCA All-Star baseball game on June 19th. What a great honor for this well deserved senior!

Friday May 14 is baccalaureate practice and a church luncheon at the Lutheran Church in Crawford. All seniors should report to school at their regular time on Friday morning. We will dismiss you from class and then walk TOGETHER as a group for practice around 10:45 am and lunch will follow when we are done with Baccalaureate practice. Students should dress appropriately for a church event. Boys should wear nice jeans and a collared shirt. Girls may wear nice jeans or casual dresses that are a modest style.
Reminder that we are doing the Senior walk at the elementary school Wednesday May 19 at 8 am. Parents are welcome to attend.

This year all athletes, grades 7-12, will be required to receive a physical. Physicals will be given at the high school on Friday, May 14th. The cost will be $20 and we request that you pay in cash, you will need to provide payment upon arrival that day. The incoming 7th grade boys along with the Junior High boys will begin at 7:45 am followed by the incoming 7th grade girls. We will continue the physical process throughout the day during the high school and junior high athletic periods until all have had a chance to receive a physical. Make sure to fill out the front page of the physical form along with the rest of the paperwork by your parents or guardian before you arrive on Friday. Make sure to bring all paperwork back to us on Friday. Please make sure to have all that information up to date. The following forms have been sent home with your child.
